My son occasionally suffers from LowV (my term for limited vocabulary), though admittedly, this mistake was one more of connotation than semantics. On Friday, while visiting with a new friend, I heard him give her the following compliment, "I like your buck teeth."
Later, I explained to him that it would be more polite to say, "I like your smile." This could serve him well in the future.
